We train industrial engineers with strong foundational skills in engineering and specialized expertise in the fields of electrical, energy, and materials engineering, as well as the traditional area of mechanical engineering. In addition to these core competencies in industrial engineering, other skills are developed to make future engineers aware of the multidisciplinary aspects related to product and process design. Specifically, their expertise will encompass various sectors such as environmental chemistry, material sustainability, environmental safety (both internal and external to companies), and circular economy.
By the end of the program, future engineers will be able to design a product and a process not only from a technical and economic perspective but also considering their environmental impact. This includes the design phase (sourcing of raw materials, company energy flows), the operational phase (energy consumption and impacts), and the end-of-life phase (disposal, recycling, and material recovery).
The future engineer will be able to find employment as a junior designer in the following fields:
Alternatively, they can continue their studies with a Master’s Degree to take on managerial roles.
The course has been designed in close collaboration with the University of Urbino and manufacturing and oil & gas companies operating internationally, to train a professional profile increasingly demanded in both the national and global job markets. These companies will provide their facilities, in Italy and abroad, for internship opportunities.
The faculty members of the involved departments are highly engaged in national and European research activities, with outcomes that are directly reflected in the course content.
International projects such as ERASMUS, ERASMUS+, and Campus World offer opportunities for study and internships at more than 45 partner universities worldwide.
The DIISM Department, recognized as a center of excellence by the Italian Ministry of Education (MIUR), is among the top in Italy for research quality in the field of industrial engineering.
